COMPLETELY BREATHLESS WITH DUBAI

This week it was a very hot weekend in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is my very first time visiting the continent, although it may be super hot and I have honestly never felt this "chaota" before in my entire life.
Dubai Safari

Although it is a very short layover, I managed to hitch a ride to go on a desert safari. It turned out to be pretty cool. Well not as in cold kinda cool, just like amazing-new-experience kinda cool.

And so the first itinerary of the day was dune bashing. I didn't bother to google what it was when I was told about it, and had absolutely no idea what it was. Until then I swear, that I end up learning three important lessons. Luckily I didn't end up vomiting. Blerghh

There was 3 very important reminders just incase the next time you go and get a dune "bash". First of all, never eat more than what you intend to. Second of all, if you have motion sickness do take your medication before hand or just don't go for it. Just don't. Nevertheless, our third and most important golden rule "never go on a rollercoaster with a baby".

These pros were drifting in the sand with all their might, I just couldn't catch my breath. And all I was thinking, "omg I need to take a picture" and "omg it's coming again" and "why don't I have a go pro?!". It was really fun and I am pretty glad I took the backseat. The man sitting in the front seat, managed to take a picture of the sand swooshing all over the other jeep like in "hang-time", and it was so cool. But I had to grab on tight, it felt like my life depended on it. So sorry, so no pictures of sand flying everywhere.

I managed to steal a shot of this brave little girl, she was in the same jeep with me all the time. Only 22 months and she managed to survive the journey crying her eyeballs out. I really am impressed at her parents. At such a young age she's getting trained to go through this. I had no idea what I was doing when I was in my 22nd month. Jeez, she's not even 2 years old yet.

Under the desert

It was 46˚C

And the driver, insisted that I should take a jumpshot. So #unglam

With the recent outbreak of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in Saudi Arabia, I was warned by many not to go on camel rides.

But I could not resist going on a camel ride when in UAE. So I did it anyways.

And so we spent a great deal of time sun bathing while waiting for the sun to set and dinner to arrive.

After a day of 'effortless' walking, I ended up having too much sand in my shoes.

At times like these, nature calls for a selfie

I didn't manage to capture the beautiful sunset. But I do hope to come back in December. I was told it was the best season for safari because the temperature for winter in Dubai ranges from an average of 14-19˚C and it's best for stargazing.

I was gazing at the amount of "fullness" at her hips and her tummy, and there goes with the very entertaining belly dancing sesh.

Tanoura Dance,

I have seen a similar dance before in India 4 years back but I never got to know the name of this dance. This Egyptian Folklore dance was performed by men, wearing long colourful skirts. I am amazed how they could maintain their balance and continue swirling for about 5 mins. When the lights were on, I couldn't hide my amazement.
Last but not least, a feast to end the day!

A Stroll Across Dubai

Amazeballs breakfast in Dubai.

So I was very determined to visit the Burj Al Arab, the world famous 7 star hotel in Dubai. Surprisingly I came to know that without a reservation at the restaurant or the hotel, you couldn't enter the hotel. What a shame. Ofcourse, I wouldn't just give up and leave, and I took a stroll down the street and continue my determination to search for a better view of the hotel.

From the entrance of Burj Al Arab to Jumeirah Beach Hotel down to the Jumeirah Public Beach.

It was definitely worth the visit

After a long walk, I almost melted.

And this air-conditioned bus station, is my life savior, and to my belief might be the best combination of humankind invention man ever contributed to Dubai.

So later on we took the metro from Mall of the Emirates to Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa Station. Dubai Mall apparantly one of the largest malls in the world.

The Waterfall is really spectacular,

While I was wandering around, I saw this advertisement on Cookie Crumble at Shake Shack. Well who woulnd't resist some Chocolate Chip Cookie Crumble on a burning hot day? So I decided to pay this famous burger joint a visit. To my surprise, their cashier are really friendly. So it gave me a really good first impression. Their burgers are very instagrammable. Nonetheless the patty, okay la. 6/10 I shall come back and give you a second chance in the near future.

Hmm, Baskin31Robbins' Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough would taste really nice if topped with crumbles.

This is Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the World. Located next to Dubai Mall.

Say Hi, Burj Khalifa! Being touristy again

There are so many constructions going on simultaneously, I was told that skyscrapers in Dubai city was only developed in the recent 20 years or so. I believe by 2050 Dubai will be like "The Capitol" in the Hunger Games Fiction Movie.

Amazing city, Dubai is. I really look forward to see how much will the city change the next time I come back.

And this, is the metro station by The Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA). It looks amazing isn't it.

Till then Dubai, see you next time.
