Hyde Park

Hyde Park is the oldest public parkland in Australia, measuring 40acre wide park and is currently located in the central business district of Sydney, New South Wales. Here's the splendid view of the Archibald Fountain sitting at the centre of the Hyde Park.

Hyde Park contains approximately 580 trees and boasts itself for the well kept gardens.

In the evening, you will see many people coming here to jog and skateboard.

At the park's southern end, you will find the ANZAC War Memorial. It was built as a memorial to the Australian Imperial Force of World War I. And just infront of it you will see the 'Pool of Remembrance' but unfortunately it was closed for renovation.

In conjunction with the Australian Day on the 26th of January, there's a festival village set up at the Hyde Park. Sadly my entry was refused because I wasn't holding any valid identification. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to enter without one.

It's okay, I am happy with my stroll at the park :)

Bondi Beach

As for many of my friends, (if you like sun and beaches) they have strongly recommended me to atleast visit Bondi Beach once during my stay in Sydney.

It's a very beautiful day at the Bondi Beach Today.

Bondi Beach is a very popular beach in Sydney, if you google the Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach Coastal Walk on Tripadvisor, you will see that it is rated a 5 star. Either how, if you chose to spend your day there, you'll expect to see the picturesque sight of Sydney's eastern beach.

The Bondi Beach is approximately 7km east of the Sydney Central Business District. #Funfact: "Bondi" is an aboriginal word meaning water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks.

Bondi Baths, located just uphill 500m away from Bondi Beach, is a swimming pool managed by the Icebergs.

Bondi Beach alone stretches about 1km long. I took the train from St James Railway Station, Sydney and then took several interchanges to Bondi Junction Railway Station. As mentioned before, if travelling with an OPAL card will save you loads of hassle. From Bondi Junction Railway Station, make way to the nearest bus stop and hop on a bus towards Bondi Beach :)

There are many popular cafes, restaurants and hotels with the beautiful view of the beach, but here (if you're taking the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee) you'll get amazed by the spectacular and close up view of the beach and the Tasman Sea.

If you're planning to do the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee Beach, you can refer to the link here: http://bonditocoogeewalk.com.au/

Or actually just follow the concrete path, you should see signs along the way.

Personal opinion, I think this would be a splendid choice for a reading/meditation spot. At Tamarama Beach, you will see a bunch of board riders/surfers challenging the tide.

Tamarama Beach is a small beach, but it is still dangerous for most swimmers. Tamarama is in the middle of the "Bondi to Bronte Ocean Walk" (Wikipedia, 2016).

Volleyball and picnic seems like a faily good option

Not far from Tamarama Beach, you will arrive at the coast of Bronte Beach. There is a very dangerous rip at Bronte Beach known as the Bronte Express.

At Bronte, theres a large park but not as big as Bondi. They also have a large BBQ and picnic area, playground, showers and toilets. At the south end of the beach is a 30m ocean pool, the one that you're looking at right now.

Enroute to Clovelly Beach, you will pass by the Waverly Cemetery.

Clovelly Beach seems like a great place for a swim.

On the other side of the car park is the entrance to the Gordons Bay Underwater Nature Trail, a 500m underwater chain guiding divers past reefs, sand flats and kelp forests.

If you're looking for a snorkelling location in Sydney. Gordon's Bay is protected by an off-shore reef and with its crystal clear waters, it's considered an ideal site for beginners and families. But the bay is not a popular swimming spot due to its difficulty in accessibility. Caution: the beach is also unpatrolled, so swim and snorkel with your own gears and at your own risk :)

At St James Station, there's a bus 380 that goes to Bondi Beach. I got on a bus that goes to Circular Quay and stopped at Hyde Park on the way back.

That's all for today! :D Time to tempt you with food pictures, again! Here's beef ribs soup at Dae Jang Geum.

And strawberry pancakes at Pancakes On the Rocks :D

Till next time Sydney!

Cheerio
