And we started our excursion to Jungfraujoch, Switzerland - also known as the top of Europe. Our journey began from Zurich - Lucerne - Interlaken - Grindelwald - Jungfrau.

If you have a chance to visit Switzerland, you should take the time to visit this small city, it is said that it is such a small city that the attractions are usually reachable within walking distance. It's only a 40 minutes drive from Zurich.

And we had a quick stop by Interlaken, there are a variety of sports in Switzerland that you could do in summer - hiking, cycling, paraglading and base jumping. The weather is mostly accommodating, well, as though most of the time there might have be chance of rain, but do take your chances. If you have time you could consider to hitch a stay in this beautiful city too.

I wanted to try paragliding too, but I was told that we have to spend a good whole day there for the experience. They will pick you up and then bring you to the jumping side where there will be a guide setting off with you. Apparently it costs about 230CHF per person.

Only in Interlaken you can have a spectacular view of the mountains and the alps.

Well I had no idea who would like to go on a city tour ride, doubt it will be needed anyways because the town itself is pretty small, though I'd prefer to take a stroll. But with that it makes the city look a little bit more vibrant.

I am no longer a big fan for postcards, but I find this pretty representative of Swiss culture. A picture of swiss wrestling and shepards. As well as a picture of the fully dressed farmers accompanying the cows decorated with flowers and ribbons descending the alps. It says that a festival happens every summer. I wish I had a chance to witness the procession/parade.

It's a good idea to bring your sunglasses, though sometimes I don't believe in cheap sunglasses because I think that if the sunglasses does not provide enough UV protection then your pupils will dilate and expose your eyes to more harmful UV light into your eyes. #randomfact But I think it's time to invest a new pair of good sunglasses #longstoryshort #hashtaghashtag

And so we stopped by Grindelwald to take the Jungfraubahn Mountain Railway to Jungfrau. The place looks like a hobbittown from afar.

IMG_6599.jpg

If you have the time, spend some time to look around and get a good picture of the alps.

We then continue our journey to climb up the majestic alps.

We are at the middle station - Eismeer at 3160m/10368ft above sea level.

IMG_6654.jpg

And we made it to the top of the Jungfrajoch!

IMG_6655.jpg

And now that I wonder, when was the last time you brought your dad on a trip?

Endless selfies and portraits at the peak station of Jungfrau

And so my dad was so excited to see snow for the first time, playing with the snow. So I decided to help him to take a photo to commemorate the experience. In return

IMG_6693.jpg

... He decided to toss the ball of ice straight into my camera lens.

Nevermind then, so we continued our wonders deeper into the depths of the alps into the "Alpine Sensation". There were too many bling bling and decor but we just briefly walked pass because we didn't have much time and were afraid we got left behind.

And then we finally caught up with the group in the Ice Palace. There's a lot of pretty ice sculptures.

IMG_6706.jpg
IMG_6745.jpg

Big people and small people acting like kids around snow. I wish they had a snow sled. In that case I might not want to go home.

IMG_6760.jpg

And before we left, it is a must to showcase that you've reached the top of Europe with the flag of Switzerland.

IMG_6764.jpg

Such proud dad with his next kin. Don't we look alike?

IMG_6768.jpg

Last but not least, don't forget to visit the Lindt Chocolate Factory.

IMG_6769.jpg

You can grab discounted confectionary here, I was told that you get like 20% cheaper compared to market value. Well good deal doesn't mean buying too much thou. Although they are cheaper, they're not really that cheap.

IMG_6700.jpg

It was a very short stay, but I am really happy that I get to bring my dad on a trip with me. It felt like it was a really long stay, sometimes family time means quality time. And I love quality time.

I always set my priorities straight for my family. But I need to be brave enough to chase after things I want to do in life. And hope that one day my family will also support me to do the things I love.

A video summary of my trip in Switzerland. Sorry I just started to tweak videos so I apologize for the shitty quality.

Till then Switzerland! See you next chapter!
