Frankfurt is the fifth largest city in Germany. As centre for commerce, culture, education, tourism and web traffic it holds a population of approximately 7 hunder thousand people within its administrative boundary.

Did you know that Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest airport in the world measured by passenger traffic? It is also the main hub for Germany's flag carrier Lufthansa.

This is the morning view on a Monday morning. Funfact: most of the shops are closed on Sundays, and most of the museums closed on Monday. So if you're planning to visit, best avoid these days.

But according to The Economist living survey, Frankfurt is Germany's most expensive city, and the world's 10th most expensive. (Wikipedia, 2015)

I was about to taking a leisure stroll across the city of Mains, and I came across this historical area - The Mainz Citadel (Zitadelle). Apparently signs are all written in German and I couldn't understand a thing.

The next time you plan to visit Mainz, download the Mainz Walking Tours android app. (Mainz Tours, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gpsmycity.android.u273) You can use it wihout wifi, but make sure you carry a powerbank because my GPS sure have drained my phone empty after a good 3 hours.

Weird looking fungus is growing on the patch next to the Römisches Theater station. You can take the train from Mainz to Frankfurt in just 40 mins.

When in the area, visit the landmark - Drusus Stone (Drususstein). This relic is nearly 20 metres high, and a masonary block of Roman origin erected in 9 BC by Roman troops. You will see locals talking a leisure walk around the pavilion and the garden.

Next, pay a visit to the neighbouring Roman Theater.

I read that the Roman Theatre (Römisches Theater) was excavated only a few years ago. It was once one of the largest Roman theatres north of the Alps. According to historians, this theater could hold 10,000 people.

Trying to discover a little more about the locals, I accidentally found myself in a local neighbourhood.

These berries looks so vibrant, they were growing on the fences, I couldn't resist to take a picture.

As you walk pass the neighbourhood, you can't help to notice that even their higher density residential area are clean and well equipped with facilities.

I took a picture to remind myself to find out what it means. Now I know, it means - Parking Garage Exit.

When in Germany, one must not lose out on German Pork Knuckles, German Wieners and German Beer. This restaurant is apparently one of the must go locations when you're in Mainz. Highly recommended by my friends. Eisgrub Mainz - best place to visit at night with a bunch of friends. They have a big beer brewery inside. You will spot it on your right hand side once you enter the building. Go early to avoid disappointment. :)

They have interesting looking vegetation growing on walls.

And to my suspicion. Don't they look like rocket leaves?

I can't wait to be in the season where all the leaves turn orange and red

It looks so cool, I stumbled upon this park while walking towards the St. Stephen's Church.

This slide was so long and so high. Trust me, I wasn't the only idiot that decided to climb the tower and slide down. There was one caucasion before and after me.

Lesson of the day, sometimes it is worth it to climb a four storey silver slide. It was pretty fun tho.

I passed by one of the kindergardens or junior high school, I wasn't too sure, but I saw parents waiting for their children outside the building. I couldn't bear the impression that even the schools look so pretty.

At the very upper right hand side of the picture you will spot the tip of the St. Stephen Church.

This is the St. Stephen Church, it was said to be built in 990 and was founded on top of the highest hill in town. I googled the church, the interior seem to be even better but it wasn't open for visiting.

Found this creature to be sitting directly opposite one of the windows facing the church.

Pretty flowers interestingly displayed on worn out bicycles.

Well who though of such ideas to market their plant business. I sure think it's pretty cool.

Here we are at the pavilion of the Carnival Fountain (Fastnachtsbrunnen). It is located at Schiller Square.

This fountain is about 9 feet high and the bronze statue us famous for more than 200 bronze figurines and allegories. Different figures have different attributes and are related to the city of Mainz and the Carnival history.

Beautiful flowers and a combination of a great place to chill at the Schiller Square.

Did you know that in Germany, some pet dogs are allowed in cafes. You can also take your dog or cat with you when traveling. Train tickets in Germany can be purchased for them at about half the regular fare. (http://www.howtogermany.com/pages/pets.html)

This is the Schoppenstecher Statue. It is located at the edge of the Schiller Platz. The name of the statue is derived from the name for a vessel for liquids, a typical term for wine drinker in Mainz. But I don't see many people noticing the statue, just busy pedestrians.

Interesting enough to spot two weird looking furniture on the balcony.

Even the streets of Mainz can be a very happening place to visit. You'll see gelato shops, many arts (well Mainz is relatively famous for its museums).

Oooh, I love flowers. They're just so pretty!

Birds are are chubby here.

I came across this building on the Jockel Fuchs Platz, I have no idea what it is for thou, but the view here just looks spectacular.

There is a walkway just along the path of the Rhine River Mainz. A good place if you appreciate a morning jog.

This is the Mainz Cathedral or St. Martin's Cathedral. It is located near the historical center and pedestrianized market square of the city. This is a 1000 year-old Roman Catholic Cathedral.

The famous Old Town Mainz (Kirschgarten), is one of the most picturesque corners. Here you can find the oldest half-timbered house of the city that dates back to 1500.

Cheers to a long day. And to many more good fortunes to come. They have all sorts of mixture, like Coke Beer, Lemon Beer. Dangg.

Dinner is good, with great company.

Thank you for your hospitality and till we meet again Frankfurt!
